baking, chemistry & muscles

A few days ago, I had a dilemma re baking David's Cowboy Cookies. My mom usually bakes them to give away to friends for Christmas. I planned on doing the same but the thing is, I can't find baking powder! While reading some articles on baking powder vs. baking soda, finally deciding on not using a baking powder substitute, and actually getting on with baking, these things crossed my mind:

1) Baking involves chemistry (what with the acidity, alkalinity stuff! I think I'm becoming an acid-base expert now)
2) Passover, Feast of the Unleavened Bread
3) I still love chopping walnuts (brings back happy memories of baking with my mom)
4) I really don't need to increase my bicep weights cos I'm getting enough workout with the mixer (or at least my right arm is)

So here's some before and after pictures of what I've been whipping up this afternoon. Plus the cream puffs I baked for my birthday.

PS: Don't look at pictures of food before bedtime!
