what's up

It's autumn and Lent already! February's over, and it's disappointing that I only had 3 posts that month. When I made this new blog I thought I can manage to update it as often as once a week, but I guess I've just been busy.

Well, for a while now what's keeping me busy has been writing my narratives for my assessment for Engineers Australia. I just started writing yesterday but reading the guidelines and making sure I cover all units of competency cost me a lot of time (I just finished one this afternoon so I thought I'd blog first!). Becoming a member already requires a lot since I didn't do my undergrad here (and if you're wondering about my Stanford diploma, that didn't give me a free pass either since MS is not part of the accredited programs). And after that I still have a long way to go to become a registered professional engineer. Lots more essay writing and I guess not as easy as studying for 6 months and taking a licensure exam... And I thought there was nothing tougher than that (well, it was before MS so at the time it was the toughest yet)! :D

And then last week, I was in charge of Friday morning tea, supposedly it's not my turn til end of March but there had been some reshuffling. This time I prepared something savory to go with my cream puffs! Cream puff was still a hit but obviously not a breeze to make. The other thing I brought was pesto and brie on puff pastry. I've never used puff pastry sheets before so I wasn't sure what to expect. But it turned out okay, though it would have been better if they're fresh from the oven. I made some today too, well really I just put them together. :D We went to Raymund's colleague's birthday lunch and brought these!

On other news, Raymund and I have been glued to the TV on weeknights because of My Kitchen Rules! Though we're not born and bred here, we do support the Queenslanders on the show. :D Even Dr. Evil! Honestly, I find him entertaining, and think he's just one of those smart misunderstood people (like Sheldon in Big Bang Theory). And for some eye candy on the show, there's Manu, David (QLD) and Nic (SA)! :D

Lastly, since we don't have an iPod for the car yet, Raymund decided to burn some CDs, and I've rediscovered my old One Tree Hill (OTH) playlists, including some Snow Patrol, Athlete, Jimmy Eat World, Keane, Ben Lee, etc. Here's my fave at the moment. A catchy and harsh song to your ex, so OTH. :D Btw, while I've had this in my playlist for a long time, this is the first time I've seen the video and thought Pete Murray looks very Australian... and what do you know, he is! :D

That's it for now! Back to writing narratives...
