snapshots lately: 002

It's Australia Day! Haven't woken up later than 8:30 for a while, but today I let myself sleep til 9am. :D We didn't really go anywhere except the gym, where there were only 4 of us in RPM. I always find it a bit intimidating when there are only a handful of us in a class because our instructor can see us very well. It's also one of the rare occasions that I'm 'forced' to take a bike in front. Can't slack off now!

Other than that, we didn't go 'barbie', like most Australians do on this day (we did eat meatpie!). Can't go to the beach til we get the car next week. Anyway, 'barbie' just reminded me of an amusing observation I had ever since moving down undah! I'm talking about how most words are shortened with an "ie" or "y" at the end. Like barbie for barbeque, brekky for breakfast, Brissy for Brisbane, Melby for Melbourne, Tassy for Tasmania, mozzy for mosquito, and well, Aussie for Australian.

Anyway, we spent the arvo (afternoon in Aussie lingo) cleaning the house and baking. :D But we did celebrate Australia Day in our own little way. Look!
