28!

Today's my 28th birthday. This is probably the first time I didn't wait for my birthday with much eagerness because of how busy everything is at the moment. Or maybe because I'm old now - I'm officially in my late 20's! But not too old to not get excited about Disney on Ice! :P I am so psyched to watch Disney Princesses again (and Heroes - as my cousin insists on adding) with my cousins, nephew and Raymund, next week when things quiet down a bit.

As most of you (ie the few people who read my blog) know, this is my last birthday as Ms Timones. :p This has also been pointed out by Raymund and another friend. So I'd like to remember how this day felt.

As always, Raymund and I waited for my birthday at midnight, then I was woken up with greetings from my family and a birthday song by my nephew. :) Raymund's family also came over with some food, including a cake complete with 28 candles! And my mom granted our baked mac request! Yay! Now capping the night off to hear Mass.

 

 

Is it obvious that I haven't showered yet? :D

 

 

I really am very very grateful for all the blessings and experiences I've been given in my 28 years. I got everything I could ever wish for at this age, and I feel extremely lucky that God has always surrounded me with caring and kind-hearted people. :) It reminds me of 1st grade, when my mom requested that I get assigned to the class with the nicer adviser, and a couple of friends' comments before of how I always seem to be in this kind of world where people are nicer compared to theirs. I did have my share of not-so-nice things but during those times I just try to remember this quote:

The test, I don’t deny it, proves to be very hard: you have to go uphill, “against the grain”.

—What is my advice? That you must say: omnia in bonum, everything that happens, “everything that happens to me”, is for my own good... Therefore do accept what seems so hard to you, as a sweet and pleasant reality.
